This guide on how to get from Heathrow airport to London It will help you to know the best means of transport to make the transfer to your hotel in the most comfortable and economical way.
Heathrow Airport, located 30 kilometers west of London, is one of the largest and busiest in the world and has 5 terminals connected to each other through corridors and a free train.

Based on the experience of our numerous trips to this city, one of them for a month during which we wrote the travel guide to London, we explain all the options that exist for you to do the Heathrow transfer to central London or to your hotel, in the best way.

Meter

The Picaddily subway line (dark navy blue) connects the 5 terminals of Heathrow Airport with central London (Piccadilly Circus station) in 50 minutes, although it also stops at other important stations such as Hyde Park Corner, Covent Garden, South Kensington and Leicester Square.
The schedule is from 05h to 00: 30h on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends with a passing frequency of about 5 minutes.
Although it is one of the most used options, one of the great disadvantages of using the subway is that it does not have space for luggage and when you get to the most central stations, there is not even a pin in the wagons. In addition the subway stations are not very accessible and you will probably have to climb some stairs with your bag on your back.

The single ticket from Heathrow to London costs 6 pounds, although if you have a contactless card or the Oyster Card it will cost you just over 3 pounds.
It must also be taken into account that the airport is located in zone 6 of London and if you buy the Travelcard that covers this area, you will not have to pay anything. In this post we explain how to use the London underground with all the details of this means of transport.

Metro, one of the best options to go from Heathrow to London

Train

The Heathrow Express train, operating from 05h to 00h and with a frequency of 15 minutes, is the fastest way to get to London from Heathrow, taking you in 15 minutes from the 5 terminals to Paddington station, which connects with several bus and subway lines such as Hammersmith, Bakerloo, District and Circle, the most tourist.
The Heathrow Express, which has room for luggage, Wi-Fi and plugs, is priced at £ 25 or 37, if you buy round trip.
A good option to save money is to book this ticket in advance.

The big disadvantage of the Heathrow Express is the high price, which you can reduce if you take the Heathrow Connect train that travels the same route but takes 15 more minutes and leaves for about 11 pounds. Keep in mind that this last train makes many more stops and has less frequency of passage.

On the return journey, if you use a train or subway, we advise you to look carefully at the information panels to ensure that the final destination is the terminal from which your flight leaves.

Bus, one of the best transfer options from Heathrow to London

The National Express company bus will take you from Heathrow Airport to London (Victoria Station), with no intermediate stops, in about 45 minutes for about 6 pounds.
These buses leave from Terminals 2 and 3 every 15 minutes and are operational from 04h to 22h. You can check the schedules on the official website.

London

A good option to stay in London is to look for a hotel near Victoria Station or a subway stop.
We stayed the first time we were in town at the Victor Hotel, a small family hotel with a good breakfast, located very close to Victoria Station.
On the next trip we were at the Garden Court Hotel, located in the beautiful Notting Hill neighborhood and near the Bayswater subway stop.
Both hotels are highly recommended to have a good location and one of the best quality / price ratios in the city.

Private transport

Booking this private transfer is the most comfortable way to go from Heathrow to London, not having to worry about anything.
Upon arrival at Heathrow Airport a driver will be waiting for you at the terminal, showing a sign with your name, and will take you directly to the door of your hotel in about 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
In addition to comfort, this service offers very tight prices and can be profitable if you are several passengers. The price of the 3-seater vehicle is 66 euros, the 4-seater is 75 euros, the 6-seater is 95 euros and the 8-seater is 100 euros.

Cab

The taxi service is priced between 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the time, the location of the hotel and the traffic.
