RECIPES OF THE WORLD: CEVICHE

One of the Star dishes of Mexico and Peru is the ceviche, a dish based on raw fish: light, healthy and ideal for summer days. (Yes, I know that we have just entered spring, but better start experimenting for summer dinners, right?). Here we leave you an easy and simple recipe for ceviche to cook it yourself at home.

Ingredients

  • 400 gr. white fish (the one you like)
  • ½ red pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 potatoes
  • ½ onion
  • 2 chili peppers
  • 5 files
  • Coriander (or parsley, or an aromatic herb that you like)
  • Salt

Elaboration

1) Cut the fish into 1cm x 1cm pieces.

2) Put the pieces of raw fish in a bowl and cover them with the juice of the limes.

3) Cover the dish and leave it in the fridge for about 3 hours.

4) While the fish is “cooking” thanks to the lime juice, we cook the potatoes that we will then add to the other ingredients.

5) Mix the onions, pepper, tomato, chili peppers and cilantro with lime juice, put a pinch of salt and let stand.

6) When the fish is ready mix it with all the other ingredients.

P.S THANKS to those who have warned us that this type of ceviche is Mexican and not Peruvian ... forgive ignorance! 🙂
