Although it seems that we are in the middle of autumn, summer is just around the corner (hurry up, we miss you, jooo!). That's why we are going to make a series of posts that talk about beautiful islands, ideal for a little escape! And that you know that it is not necessary to travel to the Caribbean or Asia to enjoy bits of paradise ... come on, we had a great time at the Perenthian but the truth is that the Mediterranean islands have nothing to envy, especially if you think there You can always find Serrano ham and olive oil!

Today we start traveling to the most controversial Balearic island of all: Ibiza We are going to tell you what to see and do, we will talk about transport on the island, places to party and much more! A very complete guide!

Often what is associated with this island is noise, parties, madness but, fortunately, the island offers much more, and if the only foam you want to feel on your skin is that of the sea and not the foam-party of the clubs ... you are at the right place.

THE BEST OF IBIZA

1 / Without a doubt, treasure number 1 of the island is its beaches and its coves. The ideal would be to visit them all to make your personal classification, but if you don't have time, these are the ones that usually fall in love the most:

  • Cala Comte: great turquoise blue waters.
  • White waters: Although parking is paid, it's worth it. The water is very beautiful and you can take a clay bath.
  • Sa Trinxa: formed by mini coves: it is one of the most beautiful places on the island!
  • It's portixol: with its closed horseshoe shape it looks like a lake.
  • Cala Benirràs: It is famous for its hippie atmosphere, especially at sunset when the drums begin to sound!
  • Salted Creek: one of the best on the island.
  • Cala Bassa: Very beautiful, although quite touristy.
  • Cala Gracioneta: small but very pretty.
  • Cala d'en Serra: If you are looking for a quiet place without tourists it is the ideal place.
  • Cala d'hort: with the imposing islet of Es Vedrà in front.
  • Playa d'en Bossa: Ideal if you are looking for a little gear.
  • Perfect for snorkeling are the Xuclar Creek and the Xarraca Creek.

2/ Ibizan Peoples: do not miss the opportunity to stroll through the historic centers of the main cities of the island: Santa Eulalia, San José, San Juan, San Antonio ... Above all, go up to the "high city" or "Dalt Vila" of Ibiza with its beautiful Cathedral that dominates the sea. Visit it both day and night! And best of all, get lost in the white streets of the center, in search of original premises and secret corners. And if you don't have much time join some of the city tours.

3/ Street markets: Take a walk through its famous hippie “trinkets”: on Wednesdays the great Hippie market of Es Canar is great, near Punta Árabes. Or on Saturdays, the Las Dalias street market (it is located at km. 12 of PM 810, shortly before San Carlos). You can find all kinds of crafts: silver jewelry, batik, hammocks, backpacks, belts, swimsuits, shirts and dresses ... You can also sign up for a tour to visit the hippie market.

4 / Spend the day in Formentera: a beautiful island about 20 km away ... so if you have time do not think about it and go to know another paradise (you can book ferry tickets here or sign up for one of the organized excursions).

5 / Enter the Ibizan culture: learn a few steps from the famous ball pagès, enjoy the last lights of the sun to the sound of the drums on the beach of Benirràs or participate in a local party.

6 / Not only beach: there are several interesting options of trekking on the island. Even so, if you do not dare to routes of several km, why not walk through the white almond blossoms of San Agnes de Corona, which contrast with the red earth and the blue of the sea? Or explore the cave of Can Marçà ?

7 / Enjoy the sunsets: It is said that those of Ibiza are the best in the Mediterranean. Platges de Compte, Ses Variades, Sant Antoni, Benirràs, Cal Vedella, Cap des Falc'o, Cala de bou ... are perfect places to enjoy this moment. Or from the deck of a catamaran.

8/ Party! And if it is true that you look more like your grandfather than the athletic young man you were 5 years ago, but the flame of the party has not completely gone out, admit it! So go ahead and party: some mojitos on the beach, or some little cañitas lost in some alley in the center or whatever arises ... in Ibiza you never know how the night will end!

A great experience to live is a party-boat 🙂 make a super party in a catamaran with alcohol-free bar, food, with many young people and desire to have fun. The tour lasts about 8 hours and you can hire it here.

And if you feel like marching, the offer is spectacular: nightclubs of the island are the best in the world (although not suitable for anyone's budget ... € 30-60! Come on, with this we eat a month in Thailand!) The main places are:

  • Amnesia: located in the center of the island, near San Rafael, the foam party is very famous.
  • DC10: near the airport on the road to Las Salinas.
  • Eden: It is in front of the beach of San Antonio.
  • It's paradis: near Eden.
  • Ushuaia: with the sessions around a maxi pool ... it is currently very fashionable!
  • Pacha: one of the icons of the island, is very close to the marina of Ibiza and is where the famous David Guetta session “F *** ME I'M FAMOUS” is held
  • Privilege: in the center of the island, near San Rafael, it is the largest nightclub in the world.
  • Space: the paradise of electronic music fans, located in Playa d'en Bossa.
  • Ideal for backpackers is the disco Keeper... come on it's free, and everything that is free is good, isn't it?

9 / Give yourself a mud bath: One of the free things that can be done in Ibiza and above is fun and beneficial for the skin. The mud can be “manufactured” in Cala Xarraca, Sa Caleta, or in Aigues Blanques.

10/ Diving & Snorkeling: its crystalline waters make it an ideal place to discover what's under the sea ... under the sea ... like a little mermaid!
