We arrived here on the recommendation of Rober's sister (thanks Chirrr!) And the place floated us: tasty, varied and very cheap dishes (the main ones cost about € 3-4 and the starters € 1-2). Apart from menu which, by the way, is also in Spanish, every day they have a handful of Dishes of the day extra. The truth is that it is a suuuper recommended site. Ah, another tip: half-liter beer costs only € 1.5 Long live Hungary!

It is one of the best known places in the city thanks to its traditional quality food, its environment and its location about 500 meters from Parliament. There is a perfect menu if you want to know the Hungarian cuisine and stick a little tribute. It costs just under € 15 and includes 3 dishes (goulash soup, duck with potatoes, onions and cabbage and apple and cinnamon cake). If the menu does not convince you or you just want to eat a dish, the prices of the starters range from € 3 to € 5 and the main ones go from € 5 to € 13.

They say that here you can try one of the goulash soups richest in all of Budapest (€ 5 approx). Considering that it is the star dish of Hungary, it is well worth approaching to try it. What is goulash? The version we know is that of a stew of veal, paprika, onion and pepper, although the traditional recipe seems to be rather a soup (we like both!). Here you will also find vegetarian options like stuffed peppers, harira soup, spinach balls with hummus (€ 3-5), but if you fancy carnaza there is a menu for two (€ 15 approx) that takes meat for an army!

Update 2019: we have just been informed that this restaurant has closed permanently. What a great pity! (Thanks Clea!)

It is a good option if you feel like it eat something fast and healthy: In this place they prepare many types of soups that you can take with you to eat in a park or on a bench in Budapest. If the weather is a good option, don't you think? The today's menu It has 5 different soups or creams and if you think they are boring you will change your mind: there are always great classics like onion soup or vegetable cream, and more original proposals such as chicken tandori or cold raspberry soup. The best? The price: the soups only cost € 1.5 so you can try several!

One of the dishes you have to try in Budapest are the palacsinta (crepes) and this site is one of the places where they are best prepared in all of Hungary! Do not fall into the error of thinking that crepes can only be sweet, because you will be absolutely wrong: here are a few salty options and, of course, sweet (nutella and banana is * _ *). There's a menu of the day with soup and palacsinta for about € 3-5 (depending on the type of crepe).

It is a very nice place, with a large open space, wooden tables and seedlings that fall from the second floor ... come on, if you want to eat in a trendy restaurant at a great price, it is your site. He specializes in middle east food So do not cut yourself and try several delicacies. We recommend the dish of hummus with pita (€ 4.6) to which you can add 5 falafel (€ 1.5), but the menu is quite extensive (vegetarian dishes and not). The half liter of beer costs € 2.5.

By the way, the Mazel Tov is a ruin pub, if you don't know what are the "ruined bars" of Budapest we recommend you read this post.

Another good option for those who want to try typical dishes And pay a little. This traditional place without many pretensions, is frequented by both locals and tourists and if you are not looking for posh places ... you will love it (and if the Soviet roll is cool, too). We recommend you try the steak with fried onion or some stew. The menu is very extensive and prices range from € 3 to € 6.

Curiosity: when paying you will be asked how many glasses of water and how many slices of bread you ate and they will charge you ... at a good price, yes 😉
