Tiruchirappalli, or Trichy as friends call them, was our penultimate biker stage in Tamil Nadu and we certainly believe it is a perfect place to spend a few days. The city is quite chaotic, we are not going to lie, but it still maintains a certain charm, especially thanks to the rock fort and its most famous temple: the Srirangam.

We begin our visit in the temple of the rock, which is located 83 meters high, we are going to be the highest point in the city but it is not about climbing Everest, until Lety does not know who complained about the jiji steps.

The best, once they reach the top are the views: Trichy literally at your feet, and as always, people make the road more entertaining.

On the way out we decided to wander around a bit and we arrived at an area where there was a street market assembled: jewelry, clothes, toys, food, fruit and juices! And with the calorazo he does, who doesn't fancy one, or two, or three? It was so we tried the orange, grape and pineapple ... mmm what a delight!

The best thing about Trichy is undoubtedly its temple, as usual with a very easy name to remember: Sri Ranganathar Swamy.

We got there by motorcycle after getting lost (just a little). The truth is that it is worth it: the enclosure is huge and full of sculptures, towers and interesting characters. We could only take pictures with the phone since we are two lights: we left the camera card in the hotel, ups! It seems that the Sri Ranganathar Swamy is the largest temple in India, we are not sure but big is noses! In fact, before arriving at the temple you will have to go through seven walls (prakaras) with its 7 towers (gopurams).

Here, mainly, Vishnu is worshiped, which represents for the Hinduists the energy that keeps the universe and protects it, so while it is true that you will not see much guiri hanging around the temple ... there is a lot of pilgrim!

We left the temple behind and began the return to the hotel because we didn't want the night to catch us but ... we lost jiji without gps since the mobile decided to run out of battery, what an adventure! Finally asking around here and there we managed to return to our little house, once again the Indians have taken us out of our jiji troubles!

USEFUL INFO

Where to sleep:We did it at the High Point hotel, in the same building of a few cinemas!

Visit:The temple is huge! It has 7 doors that go through to the center (which is prohibited for non-Hinduists). After the fourth door you can climb to the wall from where there are beautiful views, although nothing spectacular. They are paid I think 10 rupees each more the camera, although we do not pay it because we forgot the memory card! what a mess!

Travel:
It was 200km that we traveled in approximately 4 hours. The roads are manifestly better than to reach Thiruvannamalai. We went on Highway 37 to the junction in Asanur, where we took the NH-45, for the umpteenth time! Good asphalt, not too much traffic and possibility of slipping.
